Employer News :Pilkington Automotive Targets Fleet Performance Benefits With Ctrack Telematics Solution

Pilkington Automotive, the main distributor AGR and wholesaler, adopted the CTRACK fleet and video telematics to improve road safety, increase efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The company deploys the advanced solution on all the new vannettes within the commercial fleet of 35 people from the company which operates a delivery service nationally from a network of seven locations in the United Kingdom, including its central distribution center in Redditch.

“Responding to our customer needs in a safe, efficient and sustainable way is a priority for the company, it is therefore crucial that our drivers operate responsible and respectful of all health and safety requirements,” explains Calum Young, operations director at Pilkington Automotive. “We needed a very effective and simple to use telematics solution, supported by on-board cameras, to gain peace of mind around the well-being of employees and the performance of the fleet.”

Pilkington Automotive has selected the CTRACK solution to replace a previous telematics system which had been provided as part of its vehicle purchase. It has been deployed and is now used by two operations managers, with limited access to regional managers and supervisors. This guarantees that the company can optimize the productivity and efficiency of the fleet thanks to the analysis of the routes and the monitoring of the behavior of the drivers, while protecting drivers and other road users.

The cameras oriented on the road provide a true image of what happened following a real or presumed collision of road traffic, allowing the company to quickly check the well-being of the driver, to determine the responsibility and to challenge the false complaints. They are also used to investigate incoming complaints, in particular other road users via driving Pilkington Automotive? Road safety diagram. When the problems are detected, Pilkington Automotive uses video evidence alongside driver's behavior data to shape and support training requirements.

“We are already seeing early advantages in terms of drivers, complaints and cost reduction, while drivers act more vigilant due to increased commitment, leading to lower driving incidents.

Steve Thomas, managing director of CTRACK UK Commented: “Our full offer of the fleet and video telematization means that we can work in close collaboration with our customers to develop solutions that meet their precise operational requirements. With continuous progress in technology, in particular around connectivity and data analysis, we can provide flexible and friendly telematization systems that offer proven safety, efficiency and sustainability improvements. “
