The Society of Pension Professionals (SPP) has revealed that most organizations in the pension industry now offer learning programs.
The results are based on the survey of the various members of the company of SPP, which covers the entire spectrum of the pension industry of actuaries, lawyers and consultants in placement to the administrators, the trustee and the assessors of the alliance.
According to the SPP Research, 52% of companies in the sector now offer learning, while 48% do not.
Among the companies that offer an official learning program, the most stated advantage was that such regimes help to diversify their workforce (56%), while other reasons given include increased productivity, reduction in staff staff and productive use of the apprenticeship tax.
Among those who do not currently offer such programs, 27% plan to do so at some point in the future, while the remaining 73% have no current plan to do so. The reasons not to offer such opportunities will not need current recruitment to focus rather on graduate training programs.
There are various formal learning programs offered. These range from IT, finance and legal learning to actuarial, administrative and governance roles.
In addition that there is a diversified range of proposed roles, the level to which they are offered also varies – from level 3 (equivalent of level A) to level 7 (master's equivalent).
Ian McQuade, member of the SPP and managing director of Muse Advisory, said,
“I have not followed the traditional university route and managed a company that supported retirement plans responsible for more than 10 million members, and more than 800 billion pounds of assets. I am happy to see the majority of pension industry organizations will now offer a learning program and I have no doubt that many of those who take this path will also become future leaders.
For employers who do not yet offer such regimes, these evidence highlights the many advantages of learning, increased productivity and the lower rolling of staff to a more diverse workforce, a better represented company and our customers.
For individuals, the advantages of winning while learning and acquiring practical and real experience are obvious, the avoidance of students' debt will also be a great attraction for many, but I think that the biggest factor is to be able to work in a diversified, prosperous, welcoming and exciting industry. »»
